Sliced Rice Cake Soup
‘Tteokguk’, or ‘rice cake soup’ is the New Year’s Day celebration meal that welcomes a new beginning and prosperity. As a tradition, Korean families share the breakfast meal on New Year’s Day to turn one year older and ‘wiser’.

With its rich and gentle beef flavored broth and white, oval and chewy rice cake, tteokguk is nourishing, tender, and fulfilling. Best with sheets of toasted gim (seaweed flakes) and egg garnish.
